Terms of Use

TheAccountingDr

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of TheAccountingDr's public website, Client Resource Center, educational materials, planning tools, and other website content.

Effective Date: August 13, 2026 Website Terms - not a client service agreement
Website terms only: These Terms of Use do not replace a client-specific quote, Bookkeeping Services Engagement Letter & Agreement, invoice, or other engagement document. When professional bookkeeping services are accepted, the applicable engagement documents control the professional relationship.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to TheAccountingDr.com, pages operated for TheAccountingDr through Blogger, the TheAccountingDr Client Resource Center, and website features that link to these Terms.

The website is operated by TheAccountingDr, LLC ("TheAccountingDr," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the website, you agree to use it in accordance with these Terms and applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

2. Website Information Is General

The website provides general information about bookkeeping services, accounting concepts, educational topics, financial reports, business practices, and TheAccountingDr resources. Website content is provided for general educational, informational, and marketing purposes.

Website content is not individualized tax, legal, investment, audit, assurance, payroll, or financial advice and should not be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who has reviewed the relevant facts and circumstances.

3. No Professional Relationship From Website Use

Visiting the website, reading content, using a planning tool, watching a video, downloading a public resource, submitting a general inquiry, or scheduling an introductory call does not by itself create a bookkeeping, accountant-client, fiduciary, tax, legal, or other professional relationship.

A professional bookkeeping engagement begins only through the applicable acceptance, payment, onboarding, records, and access requirements stated in the client-specific quote and governing engagement agreement.

4. Bookkeeping Plan Builder and Other Interactive Tools

The Bookkeeping Plan Builder and similar tools provide preliminary planning information based only on the answers entered by the user. A displayed service level, pricing tier, cadence, estimate, flag, or recommendation is a reference point only and is not a binding proposal, quote, guarantee, or promise that a particular service or price will apply.

Final scope, pricing, service frequency, timing, and acceptance depend on Discovery, confirmed facts, the condition of the accounting records, system access, service capacity, and any other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the engagement.

5. Financial Health Checks and Website Assessments

A complimentary Financial Health Check or other website assessment is limited to the scope expressly described for that service. Unless a separate written engagement states otherwise, it is not an audit, review, compilation, attestation, assurance engagement, fraud investigation, tax engagement, or comprehensive accounting-system examination.

6. Educational Materials

Articles, videos, course materials, examples, guides, checklists, forms, templates, explanations, and other educational resources may simplify facts for teaching purposes. Laws, standards, software features, tax rules, accounting practices, and business conditions can change. Users are responsible for determining whether information remains appropriate for their own circumstances.

Nothing on the website guarantees a particular financial, tax, business, educational, operational, or bookkeeping result.

7. Client Resource Center

The Client Resource Center is a knowledge and guidance center. It may contain instructions, reference materials, downloadable forms, educational resources, and links to approved systems. It is not intended to function as a public upload portal for sensitive client information.

Clients should submit financial records and sensitive information only through the secure workflow established for their engagement. Client resources do not modify a signed or electronically accepted engagement agreement unless the governing engagement documents expressly state otherwise.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its original content, branding, articles, videos, graphics, guides, checklists, forms, templates, teaching materials, downloads, page designs, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to TheAccountingDr and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may view website content and use resources for your own lawful personal, educational, or internal business purposes when the resource permits that use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, license, rebrand, remove attribution from, or present TheAccountingDr materials as your own work without written permission, except to the extent permitted by law.

Bookkeepers, students, educators, and other professionals may review public resources for learning and inspiration, but should independently create and customize materials used in their own practices rather than copying or rebranding TheAccountingDr materials.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the website to:

  • Violate applicable law or the rights of another person or organization.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to website systems, accounts, data, or restricted resources.
  • Introduce malware, harmful code, automated abuse, or activity intended to disrupt the website or a third-party service.
  • Misrepresent your identity, authority, affiliation, or the source of website content.
  • Scrape, harvest, reproduce, or systematically extract website content in a manner that violates applicable law or TheAccountingDr's intellectual-property rights.
  • Use downloadable forms or educational resources to impersonate TheAccountingDr or falsely suggest sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.

10. User Communications and Submitted Information

If you submit a contact request, inquiry, or other non-confidential website communication, you authorize TheAccountingDr to use the information reasonably necessary to respond to the request and administer related business communications.

Do not submit passwords, security answers, full banking credentials, tax records, payroll records, or other sensitive financial information through ordinary public website forms or email. Active clients should use the secure method provided for their engagement.

11. Third-Party Websites and Services

The website may link to or embed services provided by third parties, including Google/Blogger, YouTube, Calendly, Elfsight, Dropbox, Xero, Hubdoc, social-media platforms, and other service providers. Those services are governed by their own terms, policies, availability, and security practices.

A link, embedded feature, or reference to a third-party service does not guarantee that TheAccountingDr controls, endorses, warrants, or is responsible for that provider's content, performance, availability, pricing, privacy practices, security, or actions.

12. Website Availability and Changes

We may update, correct, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue website content or features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, permanent availability of a particular resource, or compatibility with every device, browser, or third-party platform.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its public content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that website content will be complete, current, error-free, suitable for a particular purpose, or sufficient for a user's particular facts or decisions.

Nothing in this section changes any obligation expressly accepted by TheAccountingDr in a separate client-specific professional engagement.

14. Limitation of Website Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TheAccountingDr is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential losses arising solely from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the public website, educational content, a preliminary planning tool, or an independent third-party website or service.

Client-specific professional services are governed by the separate limitation-of-liability and other risk-allocation provisions contained in the applicable engagement agreement. These website Terms do not expand or replace those provisions.

15. Privacy

Website privacy practices are described in the TheAccountingDr Privacy Policy. By using third-party platforms linked or embedded on the website, you may also be subject to those providers' privacy policies and terms.

16. Governing Law and Venue

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute concerning website use that is not governed by a separate written agreement shall be subject to the courts having jurisdiction in Wake County, North Carolina, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

17. Severability and No Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to the fullest extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the website, services, technology, business practices, or legal requirements. The effective date shown at the top of this page identifies the current version. Continued use of the website after an updated version is posted constitutes use of the website under the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

19. Contact

Questions about these Terms should be submitted through the TheAccountingDr Contact page.

TheAccountingDr, LLC is based in Raleigh, North Carolina and provides bookkeeping services virtually.
